The Moreau Community Center 174 Main Street in South Glens Falls will hold its second annual Trivia Night on March 25^th, 6:30-8:30pm to benefit the center’s youth programs. Sixteen teams of four will answer seven rounds of ten questions. Prizes donated by community organizations will be awarded to the top three teams. Beer, wine, soft drinks, food, door prize, and raffles will be available. Tickets are $20 per player/$10 per spectator and include an adult beverage and appetizers.

One of the youth programs benefiting from the fundraiser is the Bulldog Zone afterschool teen program. South Glens Falls students in 6^th through 12^th grades meet on Tuesday afternoons after school until 7 p.m.  Founded in September 2021 in collaboration with the Community Coalition for Family Wellness (CCFW), refreshments, structured activities or just hanging out with friends are always on the agenda. The Bulldog Zone was the brainchild of some South Glens Falls High School seniors who helped renovate a room to become the “Bulldog Zone” complete with sofas, bean bags, pillows, books, and games: a comfy place to socialize with friends.

“This program is really making a difference in the South Glens Falls teen community. We’ve wanted a program like this for a long time and thrilled to have worked with the students and the Coalition to make it happen” says Donna Nichols, Executive Director of the center. “We’re so proud of South High seniors Rebecca, Meara, and Vanessa who co-founded the Bulldog Zone and who support weekly activities. The program has grown quickly by word of mouth so having the support of the community is important for sustainability.” The co-founders in a recent radio interview described the Bulldog Zone as “…more than we expected!”, “…very hectic, but very great…”, and “there’s always lots of snacks!”

Other programs that will benefit from Trivia Night include a preschool, Kid’s Korner before-and-after-school program, Summer Lunch Bunch, a weekly backpack food program for over 170 children.

The Moreau Community Center is a not-for-profit organization located in South Glens Falls, NY.
