Moreau Community Center Announces First-Ever 50th Anniversary Gala
SOUTH GLENS FALLS, NY – The Moreau Community Center is proud to announce its first-ever 50th Anniversary Gala, to be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The Queensbury Hotel.
This milestone event will bring together community leaders, supporters, volunteers, donors, and partners to celebrate five decades of service to the community while raising vital funds for the Center’s “Help Lift Us Up!” Capital Campaign.
Founded in 1976, the Moreau Community Center has spent 50 years responding to the evolving needs of children, families, seniors, and individuals throughout the greater South Glens Falls and Town of Moreau communities. The Gala will honor that legacy while helping ensure the Center remains accessible and sustainable for generations to come.
The Moreau Community Center has been awarded a $712,000 BRICKS (Building Recreational Infrastructure for Communities, Kids and Seniors) Grant, providing a once-in-a-generation opportunity to improve the Center’s facilities and ensure accessibility for future generations. To secure these funds, the Center must raise approximately $200,000 in matching funds.
The capital improvement project will include:
- Installation of an elevator
- Construction of accessible bathrooms
- Replacement of the building’s roof
“The Moreau Community Center has always been about neighbors helping neighbors,” said Donna Nichols, Executive Director. “This gala is an opportunity to celebrate our past, recognize the people who have made our success possible, and invest in a future where everyone can access the programs and services they need.”
The evening will feature a sit-down dinner, guest speakers, entertainment, silent auctions, and special presentations recognizing the people and organizations that have helped shape the Center’s legacy.
The Moreau Community Center is currently seeking sponsorships and silent auction donations from businesses and community partners. Sponsoring the gala provides a meaningful opportunity to support an important community resource while gaining visibility among an engaged audience of local leaders, businesses, and supporters.
Capital Campaign and Gala Sponsorship opportunities are available at various levels, and silent auction donations of products, services, experiences, and gift certificates are greatly appreciated.
