Join us every spring for our May Basket classes! These delightful creations are a major fundraiser for the Center each year, and have a long history. Pictured above is First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt with a may basket of flowers in 1938!

Rug Rats: Fridays 12:30pm-2:30pm | Make your own braided wool rug for free. our experienced “rats” will teach you how.  | Needed: clean wool fabric

Crafting & Silk Floral Arranging: Tuesdays at 9:00am-11:30am!

Items created by these fantastic groups are sold in the Craft Store at the Center, during Center hours, and benefit the mission and work of the Moreau Community Center.

Day and Extended Trips for Seniors (55+)

Enjoy trips to Broadway Shows, Dinner Theaters, boat excursions, Fairs, Casinos, historic locations, etc. Past overnight and extended trips include: Grand Canyon, Mt. Rushmore, National Parks, Nova Scotia, Canadian Rockies, San Francisco, Branson, New Orleans, and much more.

Dial-A-Bus Transportation

Dial a busScheduled trips include grocery shopping, appointments, monthly lunches, shopping trips to malls, garage sales, and fun locations, as well as mini trips to local casinos and shows. Seniors (55+) and disabled adults living in South Glens Falls and the Town of Moreau can be  picked up at their home. The Dial-A-Bus calendar is built into the Center Activities Calendar found in the MCC Mulse!

Educational & Informational Programming

Jeanne, our Senior Program Director, works tirelessly to provide informational seminars, workshops, and clinics to our senior population. Check back here or on our Facebook page for programming updates!

AARP Defensive Driving Courses

AARP Defensive Driving course, led by Board Member, Kay Hutt, can help seniors (55+) save 10% for 3 years on their car insurance!! This is a one day course, usually held on the second Thursday of the month here at the Center. AARP members pay a discounted rate of $20 for the course. Non-members pay $25! Classes run from 8:15am to 4pm.  Interested participants may take part in the congregate meal site lunch provided by the Office for the Aging.

Health & Wellness

Healthy Bones for Life, formerly Osteobusters, is a bi-weekly fitness program for our older community members who are concerned about slowing or preventing the onset of osteoporosis. Led by trained volunteers, the group meets Monday and Friday mornings from 8:30am to 9:00am here at the Center. What started as a fitness routine has evolved to become an inclusive community in which members share their lives, lean on one another, and create lasting friendships.

NEW PROGRAM! HHHN Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program
Representatives will be on site the second Wednesday of every month from 10am to 1pm! Stop by to learn about HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention. Learn about how prevalent Hepatitis C is, especially among Baby Boomers, and how it can be cured. Ask them any of the questions that might be hanging out in the back of your mind. They’ll have plenty of great health information, and will be able to provide some private, one-on-one counseling, as well as testing! The Moreau Community Center is dedicated to promoting and improving the total health and wellness of our surrounding communities, and this partnership with Hudson Headwaters will help us to better help our neighbors! Stop by! No appointments necessary! The trained HHHN employees are compassionate, discrete, and very approachable. Together, we can #endthestigma!

Legal Services

Legal advice and representation is available to all seniors in Saratoga County at the Moreau Community Center. Appointments are available monthly and need to be made directly through the Saratoga County Office for the Aging at 518-884-4100.

Office for the Aging Meal Site & Home Delivered Meals

Complete and nutritious lunches, prepared by Prestige Services, are served at the Center each weekday. The monthly menu is posted in the MCC Pulse, the Moreau Community Center newsletter.

Call the Center before 12:30pm the day before you would plan to join us and make your reservation. Sponsored by the Saratoga County Office for the Aging.

The Moreau Community Center Meal Site also serves as the epicenter of Saratoga County’s Home Delivered Meals program. This program is volunteer driven and provides the same meal site lunches, as well as frozen and weekend meals, to eligible, home-bound seniors.
