The mission of the Moreau Community Center is to meet the intergenerational needs of the community in a compassionate and inclusive environment.
To be, through in-house creation and inter-community collaboration, the premier community location for food & hunger services, going beyond the initial need of satisfying hunger.
To be a leader in providing quality, accessible, affordable, and as often as possible, free educational support and programming, as well as opportunities for social engagement, for families and individuals.
To be known across the communities we serve as a place of welcome, inclusion, and diversity, sincerely respecting the inherent dignity of all people.
UPDATE 9/2022: Due to an abundance of other community resources supplying back-to-school supplies, the Center has suspended this program for 2022. If you need further assistance or referrals, please contact Rosemary at (518) 792-6007.
Open to income-eligible families with children in the South Glens Falls school district, this service program helps to ensure that the most vulnerable students and parents in our district don’t need to worry about school supplies or where breakfast and lunch will come from when school is out for the weekend.
The work we do is made possible through a small army of volunteers, all of whom play an integral part in the day-to-day functioning of the Center; as well as through community connection and collaboration with the Town of Moreau and several area for-and-non-profit organizations.
