New Trail Initiatives Seeks Community Input

What Kinds of Trails Would You Like to See More Of?
What Makes Trails Welcoming?

There is a new project here in Saratoga County called the Sarah B. Foulke Friendship Trails. The project is founded on the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy time outdoors, because the more people who connect with nature, the more we all benefit.

The current phase of the project is seeking public input on how existing and future trails can be more welcoming and inclusive to people from all walks of life. Saratoga PLAN, the nonprofit organization overseeing this work in partnership with a community committee, has provided a short trail preference survey for people to fill out.  Click on the link HERE to fill it out.

The Friendship Trails will be a network of trails located in Northern Saratoga County between RT 9 and 9N – roughly triangle between Saratoga Springs, Village of Corinth, Village of South Glens Falls.

Some of the trails already exist, like the ones in Moreau Lake State Park and local public conservation lands. New trails will also be created in partnership with interested landowners, community organizations, and municipalities as funding becomes available.

Public input via a community survey is now being sought to inform a trail Master Plan that will identify the kinds of trails and outdoor experiences people would like to see in the community.

The trail designers are very interested in what (ORGANIZATION’S) community thinks about trails and how we spend time outdoors.

They are also interested in your thoughts as to how existing and future trails, parks, and outdoor places could be improved to make our community’s experiences even better.

To find out what we think, they have asked we share a brief survey with you that will take about 7-10 minutes. There are no right or wrong answers to this survey and your answers will be anonymous.
