Dear New Street Neighbor,
On Saturday, September 10, the Moreau Community Center will once again be hosting the annual Block Party at the Center and along New Street. This fun, family-friendly event has become an annual tradition in our community. All proceeds will help us help others and we are looking forward to another wonderful event. On this day, New Street will be blocked off from all non-local traffic. The Block Party hours are from 9am until 3pm. You can get the latest information about the Block Party on our website and on Facebook.
New Street will be filled with booths of community organizations and businesses. Family-friendly events in the Moreau Community Center parking lot will include entertainment, face-painting & balloons, a bouncy-house, a dunking booth, food, and games. The Center yard area will feature tables of food, crafts, and a mum sale with a basket raffle and other events in the Center. Food vendors will be located in and around the Center.
We cannot have this annual celebration of our community without the support of our neighbors, so thank you in advance for your cooperation.
We are asking that neighbors not park cars on New Street on Friday, September 9th afternoon/night so that we can set up for the event on Saturday, September 10th. We will be marking the street late Friday afternoon/early evening so cars on the street will prevent us from preparing for exhibitors on Saturday morning.
On Saturday, exhibitors will be designated locations up and down New Street that do not obstruct driveways. We have asked exhibitors to be respectful of your property. We ask that neighbors plan accordingly not to drive on New Street because it will be blocked from non-local traffic to Saratoga Avenue/Route 9 and Main Street and filled with pedestrians and exhibitor booths.
We are looking for supporters! The HUGE Basket Raffle is a big fundraiser for the Center and will be on display for selection on Thursday 9/8 and Friday 9/9. Raffle winners will be drawn at the end of the Block Party on Saturday. If you would like to be an exhibitor, volunteer, vendor, or basket raffle donor, please contact me or Cindy at the Moreau Community Center for more information.
