MEDIA RELEASE: 10th Annual Paul Schultz Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit the South Glens Falls Community

The 10th Annual Paul Schultz Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Queensbury Country Club, 907 NY-149, Lake George, New York. With Presenting Sponsor, Parker Machine Company Inc. of Fort Edward, New York, this fundraising event will benefit the programs and services of the Moreau Community Center in South Glens Falls, New York. The event honors Paul Schultz, the previous owner of Parker Machine, and a long-time supporter of the Center. Tickets are $100 per person($120 day-of) for this shot-gun start scramble and pre-registration is encouraged.

From The Glens Falls Chronicle in 2019: The center says Paul’s “depth of generosity and compassion went far beyond taking the lead” on the annual golf tournament. “He worked to bring the Center more fully into the community, ensuring that it would be forever known as a place of welcome and action. Each year he and his family would not only adopt another family for the Holiday Caring program, but they’d also volunteer to distribute meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas….To this day, the Schultz family, led by his wife Nancy, and Paul’s former company, Parker Machine, under the leadership of his longtime friends and colleague, Tammy Aust and Pat Whaley, continue to be pivotal to the success of the Center through the tournament.
“It is not a stretch to say that the Center would not be what it is today without the love and dedication that Paul had for it and his community.”

The entry fee includes golf, a cart, a light breakfast spread with mimosas and bloody marys in addition to the coffee, hot dogs at the turn, and a BBQ luncheon.

Founded in 1977, the Moreau Community Center is one of the major human service agencies serving citizens of all ages in northern Saratoga and surrounding parts of Washington and Warren Counties. Proceeds from this event will benefit many programs and services including a food pantry, Kids’ Korner before & after school programs, Bulldog Zone weekly teen program, BackPack weekend food program, Skills4Life life and career services, senior programming, summer Camp Moreau for kids, and the summer Lunch Bunch youth food program.
